ExcellGene SA is celebrating its 20th anniversary. It was established in 2001 by Drs. Florian M. (Prof. emeritus) and Maria J. Wurm as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. ExcellGene delivers services in developing and manufacturing therapeutic candidate biologics, from DNA to Process.

In serving hundreds of clients over the years, ExcellGene has maintained a deep commitment to building a foundation of solid science through discipline and constant innovation, and providing peace of mind to its clients through reliable, industry-leading quality of service.

Through this science-led approach, ExcellGene has pioneered many advances in the use of recombinant animal cells in bioreactors and shared them often in well-known publications to advance the industry as a whole.

At this milestone, ExcellGene's team of 55 is composed of people from 16 different countries, including many with backgrounds from prominent scientific institutions. Drs. Florian and Maria Wurm would like to express their deepest gratitude to their remarkable team, partners, and clients who have trusted and supported ExcellGene during its incredible 20-year journey.
